Introducing Rex’s beautiful 1941 Willys Coupe built from scratch with lots of roadblocks and cursing along the way.
Imported from the USA, this classic was in very poor condition when it arrived in Australia and was in great need of the care and attention provided by the team at DBS.
The first step in this mega project was to strip the Willys right back to basics. Everything needed to be rebuilt or replaced, and we needed to have parts that all worked exceptionally well together.
We rebuilt the chassis and then our focus was on sourcing the right running gear to ensure a smooth ride. Underneath the bonnet is an LS1 engine that runs like a dream and a Turbo 350 transmission for smooth changes in ratio.
We then installed a custom-built 9″ Differential with a 4 bar rear end that has since become “standard” in the world of high performance.
To complete this fantastic look we sourced a Mustang 2 independent front end and finished with a superb new body paint job.
As you can see, the DBS team deliver a very high standard of quality workmanship and don’t mind overcoming a challenge or two to achieve a result like this one. Rex’s 1941 Willys Coupe is an absolute pleasure to drive.
